Journal Your Christmas - Day 14

OK - Week and a half to go! So much to do. I'm having a glass of pinor noir as I type; light stress relief!
At this very moment, there is only one gift under the tree. it's there because it's too big to hide. Lucas thinks he knows what it is; he may be correct, however, I'm practicing misdirection -- "Grandma wouldn't buy you that ..." We'll see if it works. Other gifts are hidden around the house. I won't wrap until the last minute 'cause the kids will obsess over who got what; how big it is; etc.
We open gifts on Christmas morning. The kids will pass them all out (we've tried to just pick one; pass it out; open it -- but they don't have the patience for that). Then we take turns opening until they're gone. Larry always has a sequence that he wants us to open stuff in; I'm not usually that anal about it! As I've written previously, we'll have champagne while opening gifts; and most likely we'll eat belgian waffles after. The wafflemaker is one that we were given as a wedding gift (1987). Still works!
Happy Holidays!
